COUCH on Cairns Airport Sales.

COUCH presented a submission in December 2007 to the
State Health Minister, Stephen Robertson regarding a
proposal to build a Complete Cancer Care Precinct on the
Reservoir Road land in Cairns. The Minister appointed KMPG to undertake a feasibility study. KPMG has been in
contact with The Riverina Cancer Care Centre in Wagga
Wagga of whom Dr Tony Noun is Group Managing Director.
We have been assured that we should receive a response
to the feasibility study by the first week in May.
The community continues to be very supportive in
their fund raising events. We continue to receive
donations from many people on a regular basis. To name a
few, Edmonton RSL, ANZ Bank, Soroptimists Club, Cairns
district Rugby League, Cazaly's AFL, Cairns Probus Club, HMAS Cairns, MacDonald's Family Restaurants (NQ Region)
and donations from Funeral Directors throughout the
region by wish of recently deceased. COUCH is extremely
grateful for the continued support from the community at
large.
The COUCH Executive still receives numerous invites
to attend the many fund raising functions and awareness
public speaking engagements. We try to attend as many
events as we can.
Here are some fund raising events scheduled for May
and June:
- Saturday 3rd May Cairns Cancer Crusade Redlynch
Fun Run'n'Walk
- Sunday 4th May Barbary Coasters at Yorkey's Knob
