Domestic Downsizing - 0422 520 354

It was my birthday last week and I received an iPad from my husband. Now although this isn't the most romantic of presents, I was very appreciative as it will be particularly handy for my business. I travel quite a bit and I consider an iPad to be the perfect travel companion - not just to keep in touch, but to organise schedules and to discover so much more of the world around me.

What do you consider is your best organising tool and why? Email me here and I will share the most original and innovative responses in our next enewsletter.

As a special gift to help celebrate my birthday, for the month of March I am offering our readers a special gift. Forward this enewsletter to a friend and email me their email address and I shall give you a copy of my eBook "The Essential Guide to Declutter and Organise Your Home" for free. Not only that, I will donate the $5.95 cost of the book to Kerri's China Moon Bear Rescue Challenge. It is a win/win/win - we will have a new subscriber, you receive a fabulous eBook and the bears will get a donation! Not to mention your friend will be eternally grateful - and organised!

Are you in the Cloud(s)?
After the iPad, another of my favourite organising tools for my business is using the cloud to back-up and share files. Have you heard of Dropbox - it is a brilliant resource and the first 2GB are free. You can even access all your files on your iPhone! It is a must for every business or for families who want to back up and share photos and more! Check it out here

The Battle Of The Books

Do you have a book fetish? Do you find yourself buying new books that you have absolutely no time to read because you think you will "one day" or that is will look good on your bookshelf? I do. But I also have one golden rule - once I have read a book that I love, I will to pass it on to someone else whose life will also be enriched by the story. And remember, letting go of the old will make room for the new! Here are some other golden rules when it comes to decluttering and organising your bookshelves.

A Few Ideas To Make Life Easier
You may have seen this email going around with some fabulous ideas for all sorts of tasks. I have picked out my top organising favourites:
  • Overhaul your linen cupboard, store bed linen sets inside one of their own pillowcases and there will be no more hunting through piles for a match.
  • Re-use a wet-wipes container to store plastic bags.
  • Attach a Velcro strip to the wall to store soft toys.
  • Use wire to make a space to store gift wrap rolls against the ceiling, rather than cluttering up the floor.
  • Forever losing your bathroom essentials? Use magnetic strips to store bobby pins, tweezers and clippers, behind a vanity door.
  • Store shoes inside shower caps to stop dirty soles rubbing on your clothes when travelling.
  • Bread tags make the perfect cord labels.
  • Use egg cartons to separate and store your Christmas decorations.
