Welcome to Better Advice
What does WHK stand for?
Since our firm's name changed to WHK
we often get asked what the initials
stand for. Here is the quick version
on how we got our name.
The short answer is Williams,
Hatchman & Kean (WHK). This was the
name of the first major capital city
firm to join the Investor Group of
which we were a part. Originally,
firms in this group all operated
under their own names, for example Rutherfords or Cameron Kirk Rose.
Then each firm added WHK as a prefix
to their firm name.
In 2008 all firms across the group
removed their secondary name and
adopted WHK as their business name.
The phase-in of this change is
almost complete across our offices
and we are pleased to still offer
the same local service, under the
umbrella of a larger group.
So while WHK did stand for Williams,
Hatchman & Kean, now we believe it
stands for better advice for a
better life.

Taxation! Why is it so complex? Why are my fees
so high? |

To some degree, one would think the first
question answers the second question, but it
does highlight the competing pressures of public
accounting. What can appear to be relatively
straight-forward can hide a complex situation
that requires the interpretation and application
of that legislation to your particular facts.

would probably be aware that your superfund
can't borrow money nor acquire assets from you
or your associates.
However there are exceptions on the borrowing
and the types of assets the fund acquires.
