Welcome to Bunya Mountains Accommodation Centre

A warm welcome to you from the majestic Bunya Mountains! This time of year brings breathtaking clean crisp mountain air so fresh that when you speak or breathe you seem to puff condensed air, reminding us on the mountain how lucky we are to have all four seasons.

Relax and enjoy Bunya Mountains; your chalet and the flickering, mesmerizing warmth of your log fire.

We have much to be excited about here at the Bunya Mountains Accommodation Centre. Our new website is refreshingly easy to navigate and provides interesting information about our fascinating mountain range and of course our numerous and varied chalets.

We've recently created a destination guide which you can view online by clicking here.

We welcome Lindsay Teese as our new Head Chef at Poppies on the Hill Cafe. Lindsay moved to the mountain from the Gold Coast and is joined by his wife, Debbie. Lindsay is making all sorts of delicious handmade goodies and the coffee is outstanding. You don't have to pack as much these days.

We look forward to sharing many stories with you as the seasons and months come and go, and trust you will be back with us again real soon.

Sue Unwin, Manager

WINTER at Bunya Mountains

Brrrr Winter has arrived! There are so many things to love about winter at Bunya Mountains. Our wildlife are as cheeky as ever sporting their warm winter coats and are quite active this time of year. Rug up and go outdoors. Explore our walking tracks - nothing like a good bushwalk to earn that tipple of wine over dinner and the cosy warmth of your log fire!
Temperatures have been chilly especially as night falls, though we try not to dwell on the degree of coldness. The early morning frosts pepper our surrounds in white - a great opportunity for those photographers among us to get a great photo of the spectacular icicles and ice mantles which sometimes appear after a Hoar frost. One must get into the spirit of 'Bunya time' and now is a great opportunity to don on your winter woolly's outside and discard them inside for the toasty warmth and comfort of our well-equipped chalets and homes. There is nothing quite like winter in the Bunya Mountains!
